Nasoan Sheftel-Gomes is a certified leadership coach, attorney, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategist. The founder of TLC, Nasoan established the organization with a mission to support leaders of color and nurture the next generation of leaders and institution builders. TLC specializes in providing 1:1 coaching, organizational development consulting, learning, and member communities to advance this mission, embodying the belief that everyone is a leader, and all experiences are valuable.
Nasoan’s entrepreneurial and consulting journey emerged from two decades of practicing law in non-profit legal services in NYC. Throughout her career, she navigated the challenges of being an outsider in her workplaces and the legal system, grappling with the intersecting identities of being a black woman and a single mother. Drawing from this experience, Nasoan discovered how to leverage her voice, experiences, and intersectional identities in her career while leading teams and supporting organizational growth. She finds deep inspiration in coaching individuals and leaders, as well as organizations seeking transformative pathways to the future.
With a diverse set of skills and training, Nasoan adeptly supports and coaches leaders in program support and development, operations, human resources, labor-management relations, strategic planning, organizational development, and compliance, along with diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) competencies. Her professional journey includes serving as in-house non-profit general counsel, leading organizational transformation, spearheading diversity and anti-bias initiatives, and facilitating leadership development within unionized and non-unionized workforces. Nasoan’s passion lies in fostering equity-driven leadership development to shape organizations that champion anti-racism, value diversity, and support leadership at all levels.
A lifelong learner, Nasoan has honed her skills and received training at esteemed institutions such as Clark University, the University of California at Berkeley, the City University of New York School of Law, the Coaching for Transformation Program, Leadership That Works, and Cornell University Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion.
